Foam Insulation for Your Walls

Keeping cold, damp air from entering your home, while keeping warmed air from escaping, is the job of wall insulation. The most effective insulating material is sprayed-in foam.

Spray polyurethane foam is a dense material, and thus is excellent at preventing air infiltration, an important consideration in colder climates. It is applied as a liquid which then expands to fill the cavities between your exterior and interior walls. Because it expand, spray foam insulation also seals gaps and cracks that would otherwise allow outside air to leak into your home.

Spray polyurethane foam insulation has a very high insulating value, up to R 7 to an inch. Although it is more expensive to apply than cellulose or fiberglass insulation, spray polyurethane foam can often pay for itself in reduced heating bills over very few years.
